Updating Plugins for WordPress 3.2

Recently I’ve taken to updating plugins in the plugin repository without making announcements here. So despite appearances, there has actually been a lot of activity since my last post. I’m looking to change that trend and resume posting announcements of plugin updates on the blog.

With that said, I’ll kick things off by announcing that I will be updating ALL of my active plugins. At the very least they will be reviewed and tested for compatibility with WordPress 3.2. However, many plugins will see additional changes and improvements. This will be my biggest cumulative plugin effort to date, owing to the number of my active plugins, the period of dormancy some plugins had fallen into, and trying to accomplish it all in a relatively short period of time.

You can blame WordPress core committer Andrew Nacin for indirectly spurring me on. I was fortunate to have had lunch with him on the 18th of June, the day after this year’s WordCamp Columbus. His enthusiasm for WordPress was quite infectious, firing me up to do more.

I started the next day, and just under three weeks later, I’m already well on my way.

Here’s a list of the plugins that have been recently updated and their version numbers. Minor releases (i.e. x.x.x) never warrant their own post, but point releases (x.x) and major releases (1.0, 2.0, etc) will be receiving dedicated announcement posts. There have been 27 plugins updated so far:

21 June 2011
22 June 2011
24 June 2011
27 June 2011
28 June 2011
29 June 2011
01 July 2011
03 July 2011
05 July 2011
07 July 2011

Stay tuned for more!
